May 18, 2018 (Oswego, NY) - With the recent postponement and rescheduling of the ISMA opener at Monadnock Speedway until June 23, all eyes turn to the new opener, which will take place at Delaware Speedway (ON) on June 1. That June 1 event is followed by a June 2 race at Lancaster Speedway, making for a busy doubleheader to start the 2018 season.
To make the race pot even sweeter, a new point fund has been established for the three Canadian races on the ISMA schedule – two at Delaware and one at Jukasa Speedway.
A huge thank you goes out to Brad for once again organizing a very generous Bonus in memory of Harvey Lennox. This year this bonus will be awarded to the Top 5 Car Owners based on points earned at the 3 Canadian Races (Delaware 6/1/18, Jukasa 7/14/18, and Delaware 8/18/18) in 2018. The total point fund bonus payout is an awesome $7,000 with the payout as follows:
This point fund bonus will be named "The Harvey Lennox Memorial Tammy Ten Bonus Point Fund" and is sponsored by Arctic Equipment Manufacturing, Co (London, ON); Corr/Pak Merchandising (Richmond Hill, ON); Murrays Automatic Transmission Centre (London, ON); and Patco Transportation (Ayr, ON).
In addition it has also been announced that In addition to the Lennox Bonuses,ISMA is guaranteeing $1,000 to start each race at the June doubleheader at Delaware 6/1/18 and Lancaster 6/2/18 to those cars that attend BOTH.
The Delaware – Lancaster ISMA feature events are 50 lappers starting off June while Jukasa opens July on the 14th. The return to what was once Cayuga Speedway has been talked about since it was announced, as there were many memorable events over the years held there.
According to the Jukasa website, “This is one of our most anticipated races of 2018 with two incredible open wheel divisions that will be super fast and exciting. The ISMA Super Modifieds have a rich history here at Jukasa with a huge following joined by the ROC Modifieds who were recently voted on Speed 51.com as the best touring series of 2017. Both of these divisions will have the best from the USA along with a lot of local talent which will make this a date you need to be sure to mark on your calendar.
“Set on over 300 acres the newly named Jukasa Motor Speedway offers the motorsport fan a full range of amenities. There are over 1,100 campsites with many serviced with hydro and water, refreshment and souvenir booths and free parking to ensure comfort and enjoyment for all who attend the events. An added bonus at some events is the entertainment under the covered band shell pavilion – a popular gathering spot in the evenings. Quality will be the name of the game at Jukasa Motor Speedway, and for the fans, competitors, media and sponsors alike, Jukasa will strive to offer one of the most professional run motorsport facilities in North America.”
Sandwiched in between the June 1 Delaware and 2 Lancaster doubleheader and the Jukasa inaugural event is the rescheduled Monadnock Speedway to make four big ISMA events over the course of seven weekends!
