Oswego, NY (July 19, 2017) - On July 15, the ISMA Board of Directions held a morning meeting at Jennerstown Speedway to discuss the race that had been scheduled at New London-Waterford Speedbowl. The decision had been made originally to wait and see how the opening of that Connecticut oval was being affected by events that had transpired there earlier in the year.
At the recent meeting a vote was held and a majority of the Board decided that ISMA should uphold their commitment to that traditional race on August 12, 2017. The discussion centered on that fact that the Connecticut fans, people in the area and the track itself had not been a part of the problem.
According to ISMA president Howie Lane, “The track did no wrong, the area people did no wrong and ISMA has always had a good relationship with that area and we want to support the fans and racers there.”
At this writing the Wings and Wheels ISMA race may be lengthened to 75 laps from the originally planned 50, but that is still under discussion.
