Mansfield, OH – After severe thunderstorms that eventually spawned some tornadic action in the area Saturday, hit the Mansfield Motorsports Speedway, it was determined at about 10 pm that the ISMA racing had to be postponed. Only warm-ups were finished by the ISMA Lucas Oil-Helping Hands of America Super Series before the storms came. As no racing got underway, a complete program will be run on Saturday October 1 at Mansfield. Friday's 40-lapper was run without a problem on Friday with Chris Perley getting the win.
Times will be announced in the near future. All competitors, crews etc. who have wrist bands must keep them for the October show. Check the ISMA website or www.mansfield-speedway.com for further information. This weekend is also when the MSA Cavalcade was to take place so this should be a good one for supermodified fans.
Without much down time, ISMA heads for Lee USA Speedway this Friday August 19 for a 75 lapper at that 3/8's mile and then on Saturday, they are in Oxford Plains for a 75 lapper at that Maine oval.
Winchester, NH (February 6, 2018) - The ISMA Supermodifieds will kick off their 2018 season at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, May 19 for a 75-lap race. It will be the first time in close to 40 years that the supers have raced on the quarter mile oval.
”For us coming to a new track is exciting. We’re all green at this track and have to learn the track quickly,” said new ISMA President Doc Hathaway, who recently took over as president of ISMA on January 1.
Verona, NY – The Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY was once again the site of the International SuperModified Association's season-ending awards Banquet. Many awards were handed out to the 2017 owner and driver champions, the top point getters for the season, and the Triple Crown Series winners. In addition the special awards as voted on by the membership, were presented.
Thompson, CT (Oct. 15, 2017) – The battle for the ISMA championship was to be decided at the World Series of Racing on Sunday and when all the smoke had settled, 2016 ISMA champ Dave Shullick Jr. relinquished that title to Jon McKennedy, but he didn't shy away from taking his third straight World Series ISMA win. While McKennedy and Timmy Jedrzejek fought side for side for a number of laps hoping to win a first ISMA crown, Shullick pulled by leader Chris Perley on lap 16 and proceeded to decimate the field while the aforementioned duo tried to out run each other to win the 2017 championship.
