Lorain, OH (June 26, 2015) -- Thirty-one years ago the International SuperModified Association ran their first race event at Lorain County Speedway. The 22 of Doug Saunier of Navarre, OH was the winner of the 1984 100-lapper. Fast forward to 2015 when ISMA returned to Lorain County and saw young NASA engineer Michael McVetta win the Friday night 50-lapper, driving his 22 to a career-first victory. McVetta, ironically just happens to be Saunier's son-in-law. It was all the more rewarding for McVetta who had crashed heavily at Oswego Speedway on June 13 and was nursing an injured finger from the incident. Unfortunately, McVetta also saw is first victory marred at race end when a broken watts link sent him into the first turn with a damaged car.

Oswego, NY (June 8, 2015) – Several years ago, Ed Shea of Shea Concrete initiated a separate driver point fund, which encompassed the four winged ISMA shows scheduled at Oswego Speedway. A purse of $5,000 was established to be divided up among the top five point getters from those four races. This season that purse will go up to $6,000 for those five drivers and each will receive a check and a trophy after the final point tallies in September.
2015 brings another added incentive for the winged competitors which makes the winner’s prize $6,000 at each Oswego event. Four sponsors – Raeco Metals, owned by Mike Lichty of Innerkip, Ontario, Craig Reed, owner of Reed’s Salvage, Ken Locke, of Locke Crane Service and Cape Cod Aggregates, sponsor of the 2014 championship Seitz-Bien team, have gotten together to sweeten the feature purse by $5,000 at each of the four Oswego ISMA races this season.
